Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technology (Rail)

Our part time courses are specifically designed to give you the ability to change your career path. You will gain the necessary skills required to enter employment in the railway industry. 

You will undertake both practical and classroom based learning during your time at our Centres Nationwide. This will give you everything you need to embark on your new career.


Who can access this programme? 

Aged 19 years or older (on or after the 1st August 2018)

Been a UK resident or have been living in the EU for the past 3 years

How long will the course take to complete?

We run courses of varying length maximum being 2 days a week and we also run evening courses.  Contact us for details.

Traineeships

Our traineeship provides learners with the necessary knowledge and understanding to advance into the rail industry. The course consists of both classroom theory learning and practical experience, which is attained within a simulated railway environment, providing an opportunity for complete hands-on learning. Practical work helps to demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of the rail industry, allowing the learner to acquire personal skills for basic railway engineering tasks.

Learning Outcomes

On our traineeship, you’ll learn:

  • How to use hand tools that are commonly used in railway engineering through theoretical classroom learning and practical experience.
  • Core health and safety training, such as manual handling, fire safety, and first aid awareness.
